Book review: A man Called Ove

Image
Title: A Man called Ove Author: Fredrik Backman  Meet OVE, a kvetch, recently unemployed and not so recently widowed. He believes everything should be run in an orderly manner. For him, A real man wakes up at 6, brews his coffee himself (without machine, ofcourse), and then goes out for morning rituals.  Ove is a grumpy old sod, who is for the most part of novel; a bitter neighbour & an old-fashioned man. The author has done a fantabulous job in building his character; From a grumpy old man who is disciplined, devoid of emotions to the Lovely Ove, who still curses everything that happens around him but carries on with it.  Ove's wife Sonja, who according to him was the only person who understood him, was a beautiful, stunning & compassionate lady. Title: 𝗔 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 Author: 𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗳 𝑩𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔: Storytelling: 4/5 Enjoyment: 4/5 Recommended: yes Fact-fulness: 3/5 "𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘩𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘯𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦." -Muhammad Hanif The story is about one of the most intriguing murder mysteries of recent times: The death of General Zia, US Ambassador Raphael and Top brass of Pakistan army (when they were planning to have a mango party) in a crash of Pak one on August 17, 1988. The time when US and Pakistan were busy fighting the Communists in Afghanistan.  The novel tries to explore how President Zia’s plane that only flew less than 50 hours, had no technical faults, had top class pilots in the cockpit was crashed. Personally, I feel the author has been too harsh on Pakistan Military. Factually, this book do presents a theory which by the looks of it, appea...

The Question is: Does eternity lasts forever?

Image
In the quest of life, I found death I found loneliness in the midst of throng Aversion, Vendetta, Chaos, Violence  Whenever they speak, venom comes out For they have butchered more mortals then Kings Reality is bitter than a bitter melon  Thy heart is purer than sunset at Taj Mahal, Thy lips when speak, speak L O V E Thy Eyes when look, long for Mercy Thy wants to live in love for eternity  Thy feels eternity lasts forever  I am a sinner, who found a Saint Saint who preaches, love, and love  Mercy, Forgiveness are the pillars of his mausoleum  I asked him, Does eternity lasts forever?  He articulated "Love is eternity, Eternity is love" Note: Image courtesy of Oakscouncel.com
